Friends around the Campfire

Join us round the campfire

John once said that, after he was gone, he would like his friends to have a big party and tell stories about him, and he hoped some of the stories would be good ones!

This is a place for all Friends of John Denver to gather around the campfire and share your stories and memories of John, so post here and join the party!

Campfire Rose said: Thanks Christine. I do intend to enjoy the bus pass, but unfortunately I am not entitled to it until I receive my pension in January! I had my first free eye test on Wednesday!!!!

Campfire Christine Moon said: If you are on the Friends of John Denver email list but have not been seeing our email, please check your Spam/Junk folder as I have found they often get incorrectly sent there. Also add fojd.news@zen.co.uk (for Yahoo and BTInternet users), fojdnews@fojd.org.uk and fojdclub@fojd.org.uk to your Contacts so your provider's systems know you expect email from those addresses.

Campfire Rose said: Love your comment about the Mill On The Soar Mary! I must admit, I always check reviews on http://www.tripadvisor.com
before I book any accommodation in the UK or abroad.

Campfire Mary Waddington said: Pam how sorry I am to hear that you have been so unwell. Recovery is always a slow process especially when you have had a life changing illness. Rest well, eat well and listen to John's music which is healing in itself. Although you will not be able to attend the next two Denver Days you will be in all our thoughts. God bless. xx.

Christine has been so good as to provide excellent accommodation details and I feel bad about not mentioning this before, but I would not recommend THE MILL ON THE SOAR, it should be re-named THE MILL ON THE SORE! I stayed one night and the bed was appalling, I didn't sleep a wink! Receptionist didn't seem at all bothered by my complaints!

Look forward to seeing everyone on the 30th October.
Love and Peace to all.xx

Last night was a beautiful clear, star filled night here. Saw a few meteors, about 5 in 15 minutes.

I googled it (Now I am retired, I have the time to chase these things down) and came up with this link. I havent followed it but it may be worth a look for anyone who is interested

Campfire june hagan said: Just a wee note to say it's Michael and I's 6th wedding anniversary today. Bless Friends of John Denver (special thanks to Christine) and the wonderful mans music for bringing us together. Moved house this time last year to an even more idyllic farmhouse, bliss!!! Fingers crossed for clear skies tonight, but I think we are too far north. Be kind to each other, blessing from us all. June, Michael and the boys xxxx
