Friends around the Campfire

John once said that, after he was gone, he would like his friends to have a big party and tell stories about him, and he hoped some of the stories would be good ones!

This is a place for all Friends of John Denver to gather around the campfire and share your stories and memories of John, so post here and join the party!

I would like to shed a little light on Frank DeCarlo's post. I am the John Denver archivist and am currently producing a box set of (officially) unreleased concerts from around the world. I spent 4 days in the archives and need to spend about another two weeks!

As far as Frank's email from Cherry Lane, I was asked by them if I found the 'Evening with John Denver' footage. I did find multiple tapes that are marked as such, but I do not know if they are the video from the concert that was released on CD, or simply just his variety television show called by the same title. There are also tapes marked Universal Amphitheatre, but these may be the John Denver Special.

So, in a nutshell there are no plans to release the 'Evening With' concert, but I will make that a priority next time I go to Denver!

In the meantime, stay tuned here as there will be a big announcement in the coming month through Christine about the October archive releases!
